Simple ways to detox your mind

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Caught up in our routine lives of constant work pressure, emotional challenges, and health problems, we usually drain ourselves mentally and physically. It then becomes a loop that can have severe effects on our health as well as our productivity in life. All of us have a limited amount of energy, and it very important to rejuvenate by detoxing our mind. It will help you energize and continue to reach your goals with full happiness and enthusiasm.

Here are some simple ways to detox your mind and begin refocusing for good.

  1. Use less technology

Our mind is constantly occupied with thoughts from texts, messages, emails, social media content, and the never-ending demands of social life. To get some personal space and mental clarity in life, the first step is self-reflection. For that, one needs to lessen their technology time. Set a few boundaries, such as no technology after 8 or doing simple tasks without a phone. Instead, replace it with healthy activities such as pottery, yoga, or any other class.

     2. Spend Time outdoors

Time spent outside has the power to invite inspiration, motivation, and increased energy of the body and the mind. It can be something as small as a walk-in nature every day or something big such as a trip with family and friends or even a solo trip. It not only reduces the risk of anxiety and depression but also gives you a chance to check those places off your bucket list.

     3. Journal or Vent

Getting in touch with your emotions and letting it out is a great way to declutter your mind. You can either journal every day for a while and write down all your challenges and obstacles. Detailed writing will help you in not only letting out but also finding solutions.

If you would like to talk to a friend, ask them beforehand, and take time out to visit and vent out. Both of you can take turns and allow each other to just be yourself.

     4. Meditate

We have many thoughts every day, and it is easy to get distracted from our priorities and indulge in negative thinking. To detox and refocus on what’s important, one should try and meditate. Meditation helps in combating stress and anxiety. If you feel that things are weighing you down, a 10-15min session every day can do wonders in helping you focus.

      5. Set an Intention

It is our goals and wishes that make us grow and change for the better. Set an intention for the next phase of your life in terms of who you want to be or what you want to do. Write it down somewhere where you can see it every day and remind yourself.
