Rameshwaram, also known as Ramisseram, is a town in Tamil Nadu's Ramanathapuram district. The lovely city is recognised for its magnificent seashores, tourist attractions, and the tall Pamban Bridge, among other things. The town is flanked by Sri Ramanathan Swamy temple, Agnitheertham, Nambu Nayaki Amman Temple, and Satchi Hanuman Temple, all of which are important pilgrimage sites. Rameswaram's culture is a perfect blend of legends, architectural grandeur, religion, and people. Rameshwaram, one of the Chardhams, is a holy location. The departed soul's Asthis is buried near Dhanushkodi or in the holy Agniteertham. As this is presented in holy waters, it will aid the souls of the departed in obtaining release from the cycle of rebirth and thus peace. Rameshwaram's Asthi Visarjan is a very important religious ceremony. Asthi is defined as a discarded bone or a collection of dead people's ashes. The remains of the deceased are collected after the last rites are conducted, and they are usually tied in a piece of fabric. Finally, the immersed ashes will flow like a river across the calm water.  Due to time and distance constraints, Indian citizens living abroad frequently opt to have their loved ones' final rites performed in India. As a result, the majority of them go to India from all over the world to undertake these religious rites. What if we told you it's no longer necessary? Without the presence of direct family members, Hindu religious services for Asthi Visarjan can be done. Last Journey gives you the option of having our Brahmin pandits or Hindu priests perform Asthi Visarjan at any of the Rameshwaram locations indicated, with or without your presence.
Asthi Visarjan should always be done according to the instructions in the given Hindu scriptures. If the Asthi Visarjan is not done according to the holy texts, the soul might suffer. You can collect the asthis of your loved one on the day after cremation, or on the third, seventh, or ninth day. The remains gathered must be submerged in the running water before the tenth day. Traditionally, people consider the third day to be the best time to gather asthis.  In Rameshwaram, book a Vadhyar/Pandit for Asthi Visarjan. Vadhyar/Pandit will bring all of the Pooja Samargi. All of the Priests have extensive experience and will perform in accordance with Shastra. We may also do Rameshwaram Asthi visarjan on your behalf. If you’re living across countries and cannot visit Rameshwaram due to time constraints, you can easily place a call at Last Journey and we will do all the rituals for a dignified Asthi Visarjan  for you. We’ll also send you images and videos.

Book Shraddh Pujas at Rameshwaram

Rameswaram is a tiny island in the Gulf of Mannar and one of the most prominent Teertha Kshetras. Pamban Bridge connects it to the mainland of Southern India. In his famous Dwadasha Jyotirlinga Stotram, Sri Adi Shankaracharya refers to Rameshwaram Kshetra as "Sethubandha." The "Ramanathaswamy" or "Rameshwara" Jyotirling at Rameswaram is one of the 'Bada Char Dham Yatra'. According to the Puranas, one should explore Rameswaram Mukti Sthal Kshetra and take a holy plunge in the confluence of the two seas of Mahodadhi and Ratnakara to receive the entire blessings and advantages of a trip to Varanasi's Teertha Kshetra.

Pitru Paksha Shradh at Sethu Karai:

Pitru Paksha Shradh is also performed at Sethu Karai by many people. Sethu Karai is a sacred site in the Vibheeshana Sharanagati Kshetra area, associated with Lord Rama's hunt for Sita and the construction of a bridge to demon Ravan's Swarnalanka. To save his consort Sita from the demon king Ravan, Lord Ram built a bridge over the sea from Sethu Karai at Rameswaram to Swarnalanka. Parvatavardhini is the name given to the goddess Parvati who was dedicated here. Gandhamadana Parvat on the Rameswaram island is thought to be a piece of the medicinal mountain that Hanuman brought to Lanka to cure Lakshman after he collapsed during the fight.

Thila Homam at Rameshwaram

Thila homam is a Vedic ritual that is conducted to provide peace to souls and to help ancestors and people who have died in an unnatural manner. Thila Homam is regarded auspicious in Rameshwaram Kshetra, Sethu Karai, Gokarna, Srirangapattana, Gaya, Trimbakeshwar, and other Thirtha Kshetras. According to the Puranas, such disturbed spirits roam the earth, continuously disrupting the pleasant energy and benefits. Without being released, the dead person's spirit or soul would be trapped in limbo and suffer. This might result in 'Pitru Dosh,' which could generate difficulties and problems for the deceased's relatives.
