How does Last Journey perform the same & dignified shipment of the deceased body from Dubai to Nepal?

Being a complex and time-consuming procedure, Dead Body Shifting comprises several delay moments and human errors. To lessen or avoid such scenarios, our team goes the extra mile to exceed the expectations of mourners.

Take a look at how we execute the overall project.

1. Informing the legal authorities of Dubai -

The team notifies the foreign administration of Dubai regarding the death of a citizen who belonged to Nepal. After primary examination, these authorities (embassy/Consulate general) grant a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and other legal clearances to the team or family members who are carrying forward the repatriation.

Besides the higher authorities, the local area police also provide valid permits for collecting the remains from the location of demise.

2. Shifting the remains to a certified mortuary -

Though the team puts its best efforts into quickly accessing the location, if it takes more time than anticipated, the team contacts the local funeral home of Dubai and shifts it to a mortuary attached to a certified hospital in Dubai with their help.

Along with it, the team books or arranges -

  • Well-equipped ambulance van for local relocation of the remains.
  • Hiring a cooling box or freezing cabinet to keep the remains secured at a low temperature for long hours.
  • Arranging a certified coffin box for keeping embalmed remains.

3. Booking slot for embalming of the remains -

Embalming is an unavoidable step in the dead body shifting process. However, the team makes arrangements regarding the "Embalming Service" only after attaining permission from the family of the deceased as in several religions, it is prohibited.

In embalming, professional doctors inject a medically proven mixture of chemicals and water into the dead body after expelling the body fluid. This substance keeps the organs and skin fresh and undamaged for days.

The skin coverage with the chemical layer also lessens the chances of rapid decomposing during the transportation process.

4. Collecting the essential documents from concerned Dubai departments -

The overall details regarding the demise of a non-native citizen can be provided through valid & verified documents. Hence the team or family must have the below listed documents.

  • Death Certificate with all crucial details regarding death and the deceased person.
  • NOC
  • Postmortem report if death has happened in any unnatural circumstances
  • Embalming certificate or embalming reports signed by a senior doctor at the center
  • The coffin box certificate provided by the local funeral home authority
  • Passport of the deceased person for cancellation
  • Original IDs of the deceased person with the photocopies
  • Details of all the booked air tickets including the two-way air cargo service & flight service
  • Certificate from the Health & Sanitation department for "No Communicable Disease" symptoms in the dead body.
  • Clearance from the police authority
  • Human Remains Customs Clearance from the airport authority of Dubai.
  • IDs of the team members and family members who are participating in the dead body transportation.
  • A signed consent letter from the family members of the deceased.

The team will provide 8-10 photocopies of each document mentioned above in the list. The family members will be asked to submit them by the liable authorities of Dubai.

5. Booking the "Two-Way" air cargo tickets and flight tickets -

The final step of shipping the remains through air medium is, booking the tickets according to the convenience of the family members. The team finds the most suitable flight timings and book them.

If the dead body's transportation is unaccompanied, our responsible team members will travel with the cargo from Dubai to Nepal. In such cases, the team asks for the following details of the receiver in Nepal.

  • Name of the head member of the family who is going to receive the cargo in Nepal.
  • Contact details.
  • Address for the doorstep delivery of cargo carrying human remains.
